Artist, Lottie Minick’s message to all

From Lottie Minick, artist studio #32

Listen closely and you can hear cleaning tools and supplies joining forces with lawn mowers and edgers. They are busy readying the studios and grounds of the artists on the White Rock Lake Artists’ Studio Tour. Though the artists promise, they work on their art until the last minute with no time to straighten.

For months, paint brushes, pottery wheels, cameras, paper, tile, welders and kilns ruled the studios. Tonight, while the dust and dirt is flying, they stop and think about staging. Their studios will only need to look organized for two days, Saturday and Sunday, October 16 and 17 from the hours of 10:00 to 5:00. Then everyone will let out their breath and welcome back chaos and those great phrases from their artist, “Where’s my – extra roll of welding wire, sheet of pink fused glass, bag of gold colored grout, favorite calligraphy pen – we could go on and on.

Meet the artists and the magic objects who live in the studios of the White Rock Lake Artists’ Studio Tour artists.

Don’t miss the Grand Debut of fused glass LOTTIEPOPS at 8331 San Cristobal, studio number 32. LOTTIE POPS last forever, 0 calories and make their proud new owner seem taller and thinner. Best of all, eyebrows looked perfectly arched when holding a LOTTIE POP close to your face.

Don’t miss the oldest, best, FREE artists tour in the metroplex.

Howdy!

Welcome everyone to our NEW website for the White Rock Lake Artists’ Studio Tour!  We have appreciated having a location thru JR’s DallasArtsRevue, but in 2010, we are now 18 years old (all grown up) and introducing our own website.  Lots of pictures of artists work and studios and a blog for announcements.

Our website BLOG is for news, comments and announcements about the Studio Tour. Let me begin with NEWS about our 2010 WRLake Studio Tour

NEW and RETURNING Studios!

WELCOME BACK these Artists returning to the Tour in 2010:

  • Sculptor, David Hickman
  • Glass artist, Virginia Lindsey
  • Painter, Jeff Hukill and his wife, Sigrun, a clay sculptor (participating for 1st time)

WELCOME, WELCOME to our NEW Artists for 2010:

  • Eileen Biggs, glass artist on Cambria Blvd.
  • Lynn Eskridge, illustrator and painter, on Thunderbird Ln.
  • Sissy Bingham and Lynn Reagan of AB Rockin Studio on Forest Hills (mosaic artists and teachers)

MOVING ON:  Longtime Tour Artists Becky Johnson and Gary Huntoon are moving away from Dallas. We wish them both the best!  Artist, Scott Trent, we’ll miss as well as he moves his studio and home to the North Dallas area. David Duncan and wife, Kim will be taking a “sabbatical” from our Tour this year.

OCTOBER 16 and 17 will be here in no time!  May everyone’s creative inspirations be fired up during these hot and grand Texas summer months. (Clay & glass artists and welders -  our work is always at some point “fired up”) No matter what your media, what your motivations, Work, Work, Work and expect many, many visitors to your studio at the 18th Annual WRLake Artists’ Studio Tour.
